We are seeking a ASP.NET(VB) Web Developer to continue the expansion of our Murcia presence. We are looking for an energetic problem solver to assist us in delivering technology-led projects to the highest standards. The role is very varied and requires flexibility and experience across a number of areas. You will also be required to have experience in one-on-one handling of clients.
You will be based in our Murcia office. You will however work closely with the Dublin based Web Development team in new developments and maintaining client web sites.
Role Details
- Based in Murcia.
- Development of new websites and applications in ASP.NET and Java.
- Deployment of various Content management system features.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues/bugs on existing deployments as part of ongoing customer technical support.
- Ability to identify & implement industry best practices to improve existing processes within Strata3.
- Ensuring project requirements are coded, tested and delivered to the highest standards within allocated budgets & schedules.
- Dealing with HTML / CSS templates (including appreciation of Accessibility (W3C) Guidelines).
- All dealings with Irish clients/colleagues will be conducted through English.
Required Skills
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Strong knowledge of .Net - including VB and C# and experience also with Java.
- Minimum of 2 years experience of working on a development team.
- Excellent knowledge of and demonstrable experience with a web scripting in JavaScript and jQuery.
- Good Knowledge of SQL Server tSQL, SSIS and SSRS.
- Knowledge of server environments including IIS, Apache Tomcat, Amazon AWS or Azure.
- Good knowledge of commercial and open-source content management software in particular Kentico, Joomla, Drupal and Microsoft Sharepoint 2010.
- Good knowledge of and demonstrable experience of HTML / CSS development.
- Good knowledge of and demonstrable experience with W3C accessibility standards.
- Strong analysis, problem resolution, judgment and decision making skills.
- Appreciation of web analytics software and techniques.
The Ideal Candidate
- 3rd level qualification in a relevant IT discipline.
- Good knowledge of Java/JSPs is desirable.
- Will have strong commercial experience of working in ASP.NET (VB), javascript, HTML and jQuery.
- Will have experience of working in Java & JSP.
- Practical experience using and deploying Joomla, Kentico, Drupal and Microsoft Sharepoint 2010 would be highly advantageous.
- Have experience in specifying projects and working with others to develop those specifications.
- Knowledge of open source solutions is a key advantage.
- Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritise tasks and work on multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills, time management and the ability to work under pressure.
- Flexible to travel if required.
